As we approach the 21st century, Maritime Education faces a world of change and challenge. Revolutionary advances in technology, unprecedented access to information, a rich diversity of perspectives, and frequent calls for social action for environmental and ecological reasons, will make more demands on maritime education than ever before.

The International Institute of Maritime Studies (IIMS) is equipped to respond to this challenge with - need based courses, appropriate resources and exceptional teaching. IIMS is committed to bringing modern technology into the classroom. Most of our courses will be entrusted to faculty members with a wealth of seagoing and teaching experience.

Almost all courses will be supported by Computer based programmes and Maritime Simulator systems with state of the art technology. In addition IIMS will utilize the full potential of the Audio-Visual medium, with topical Maritime video programmes.
